Current System:
The current system is an Oceanic Reef Ready 150G with dual overflows. It is 72x29x18, At this point I wish it was deeper front to back but more than serves it purpose until the next upgrade. There is 200 + pounds of live rock, Consisting of Fiji, Marshall Island, and Tonga. The rock is stacked loose and has lots of caves and openings for water flow and fish movement. I wanted to give the corals a lot of flow so I decided to use a shallow sand bed for my gobies and other sand dwellers. The system is tied to a Melev Model F sump. This sump is divided into skimmer area, return area and refugium and has a capacity of about 50 gallons.

Equipment:
Pump(s): 2 QuietOne 4000 for the return pumps. I chose to use two pumps one to each side of the tank for redundancy. For water movement I also have 2 MaxiJet 1200's that have been updated using OceanFlo 1200 modifications (OceanFlo).  These are located at opposing ends of the tank and tied to an AquaController 3. I also have a closed loop that is on a MAG18 tied to a 1" SeaSwirl located in the center of the tank. REcently I have added to Koralia Model 3 pumps. My hope it to remove the CL at some point.

Lighting: Current-USA Outer Orbit. (4 39W Actnic T5/3 250 W DE HQI Metal Halide (10000K)) lights the main system. The lighting cycle is 10 hours per day with 10 hours of Actinic and 8 hours of Metal Halide. (12:00PM  Actinic On, 1:00 PM  MH On, 9:00 PM MH Off, 10:00 PM Actinic Off This provides a dusk to dawn effect. There is also 12 white moon lights and 12 blue moon lights. The refugium is lit 18 hous starting 9 PM. with a
Controllers: To control the CA Reactor, I use a Milwaukee Instruments SMS125 Ph and Orp controller. I use the AquaController 3 for lighting,  pump management, heater, and fans.  

Supplementation:
The CA Reactor was a major plus in my mind. I personally believe that without it I would be adding supplements all the time. Ca, Alk and pH are maintained pretty steady with the addition of this equipment. I test for Alk and Ca weekly and if necessary bump the levels. I add a tablespoon of baked baking soda to my top off water each week. So far this seems to keep it all in check.

In addition I add SeaChem Strontium and Kent Lugols Iodine once a week. I believe that at the minimum the Strontium is a necessary addition for the SPS corals. Magnesium is checked once a month and adjusted as needed. I recently started adding ZeoVit Magnesium to the Calcium Reactor to help maintain the ionic balance. More testing is needed to determine if this is a viable solution. I have also started dosing amino acids before feeding for the corals.

If Ca should need to be raised I use Kent Turbo Calcium. This works great and does not require a large quantity to make small adjustments.

I also have been dosing Prodibio (Reef Booster, Bioptim, BioDigest). Originally I was dosing on the recommended schedule. I believe for my system that this may have been too much and the system may have become too sterile. I have reduced this dosing schedule by adding an additional week into it. (Instead of every 15 days, I dose on a 21 day basis.) So far this seems to be working. However the jury is still out on whether I continue to use the product or not.

Feeding:
I will be the first to admit I have probably been under feeding my tank. Recently I have increased that feeding to the following schedule. I use 1 sheet of Nori daily. I feed 2 cubes of H20 Mysis, 1 cube Copepods, frozen brine shrimp,  occasionally I add PE Mysis in due to size and replace the copepods with Cyclopeze 3 times a week. I mix Phytoplankton, Marine Snow and DT Oyster Eggs with this for the corals. Other days I use Red Sea pellet foot or flake.

1 Bi-color Blenny

1 African Blueline Pipefish

1 Falco Hawkfish

2 Yellow Watchman Gobies

CA Reactor: ReefTek
Ozone: ENALY Ozone Generator OZX-300U + Air Dryer. This produces 200-300mg/h of ozone. (Enaly)

So when are you going to show us some new pics?
2+ 12 gallon tanks and 1+3gal eclipse
Cube Master aquarium-12 gal a 10gal fuge
