| Otty - from what I can tell the Lighthouse does not return a date in the data.htm file. I will let Scott (Ashlar) tell you if it can set as curretn date on the sig page.
you need to add the image tags around the url to make it show up. img alt="" src=http://www.rowelab.com/AquaController/rc_Otty_sig.png / put a < in front of img and a > after the /.

| | Hrmm.. Steve's right, there's no provision for date on the LH.. but.. since I'm using TCL, let me see about using tcl's date format commands to create a date from a time. | |

| The following code will show the current date (on the server that the sig is generated from):
[clock format [clock seconds] -format "%m/%d"] in a sig will show '06/01'
or
[clock format [clock seconds] -format "%b %e"] will show 'Jun 1'

| Hello,
I was wondering if anyone is game to try to help me get my stupid sig generator working...
If you can help me with the no-ip.com or the dyndns.com stuff, and the setting up of the router crap, I would be most appreciative....
I would love to get this going.
Thanks

| scott,
I think I might have figured it out???
My lan has wep security. I think that you could not get past the router to the ac III because of the security code, (WEP) settings.
I think I disabled ONLY the address to the acIII (192.168.2.9) Is there a way for you to check it out from your end? Thanks Bill

| | Nope, still no luck. It doesn't depend on your computer being on- just getting from the internet to your modem, to your router, to the Aquacontroller. | |

| Have a question on how your program parses a URL... my URL is:
http://mspreef.bounceme.net/
The IP it points to changes every few weeks, and it redirects to the correct IP and also on port 8080. So the IP address returned for my domain name will be something like:
http://12.34.56.78:8080/
If I put in the settings http://mspreef.bounceme.net/ it does not work. If I put in the IP address with the port it currently is pointing to, it works fine. Seems that for some reason my URL is not being translated to the IP and port on your system (it works in IE).
Thanks! | | | |

| | Very strange.. from my server, it resolves that hostname to no-ip's ip address, but from my home machine, it resolves to your ip. | |

| Well.. I notice that this particular service includes port forwarding as part of the package. Could you disable that part so that it's just a DNS name? Then use your router to forward to the proper port?
Or try dyndns instead.. I think the problem is the complex nature of the static name -> dynamic ip + port, whereas the normal option is static name -> dynamic ip -> router port forwarding.

| ok, I turned off port forwarding at my DNS, and in my profile put in my domain name:8080. Looks like it is working now! Thanks! | | | |

| hey scott, noticed you on socalireefs.com.... very cool.
How did you get your signature to show up there. I get an error message and am told that site does not work with png picture files... so, what did I do wrong or what did you do right??
thanks
