| Yup, That ^ snippet of code works..

I'll modify the HOWTO on the first page of this thread to show how to do it.

| Why would my signature stop updating? It appears to have stopped last night at 12:21am. I have verified access to my AC3 and everything is normal. I attempted to re-issue the username/password and that did not seem to help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

| | Ok, that problem seemed to correct itself tonight (8pm'ish Eastern). Now, my second question is do I need to do something in order for the Stats portion to work? Thanks in advance -- this is an awesome little app. | |

| Well, I just fixed it.. I hadn't counted on someone with an AC3 not using ORP. LOL!
(graphs should start working as more data is collected.)

| Allen since the AC only writes to the datalog once an hour it will take at least one hour to get the first recorded value to the stats db.
Glad you like the the Sig and Widget. Got any suggestions?

| Thx - I will use ORP as soon as I can figure out how to calibrate it. I have had it for 8 months I have a PX1000 - can the graphs show up for the TmpA and pHA1 and can they be seperate? I know asking too many questions - sorry Rob Allen | |

Gotcha thanks. Ohh - I have been known for a couple suggestions here and there.
- right off the top of my head, are you planning on making this a Vista Gadget (similar to Yahoo widget, but MS's version)?
- not a suggestion, but I want to make sure I am not doing something I am not supposed to - I am using this on my website (http://www.allensaquariums.com) under Reef | Live Stats and also Puffer | Live Stats - is it ok to use it for this purpose? I also coded the graph charts in under reef - is that ok? I won't be getting a ton of traffic, I don't think. On this topic, are there plans to further customize the output for this type of use? If so, I would be willing to donate or pay for it. If I come up with more, I will let you know. Glad you asked?

| Allen I don't beiieve there is a problem with what you are doing. We are glad it is working out for you and that you can use it in such a manner. Gives people ideas, if you know what I mean.
In my early days I was quick to jump on the bleeding edge of tech and would have had Vista installed during the beta phase. Would you believe that I have still not seen Vista installed and running. With that in mind, the idea of a Vista widget has been suggested by another ReefChat member and once I upgrade my pc and load Vista I will work on that version.

| Rob, no problem with your usage.. actually, I expanded something else that I was doing that you might find more useful..
I separated out the graphs so that you can use just the ones that you need. These take the same parameters as the big graph.

re the second (and potentially third, etc) tank graphs.. I'm working on it. (I have to recode a lot of stuff- I had a faulty assumption about one tank per url.)

Don't rush out and buy Vista, trust me. I put it on a laptop that was a year old and plenty beefy -- disaster. Talk about resource intensive. I wanted to downgrade back to XP, but would loose alot of info, so I bought a new laptop that is a work horse -- Vista still dogs it. I am stuck, but my recommendation to anyone is to stick with XP for now. Those Mac commercials are closer to reality than you want to know. If you do go the Vista route, do not install it, purchase a machine that already has it -- otherwise you are just asking for problems. Enough of my Vista rant.
IT is my livelyhood and I have plenty of resources including a hosted dedicated server, so if you need help, testing or whatever, let me know.

Thanks for your efforts - they are much appreciated. I am using the individual graphs - perfect!!

| Any chance the signature could be generated as pure text for websites that don't allow pictures in the signature area? Like a link to script of some sort that will spit back the words? Thanks | | | |

| Most forums (including this one, LOL) will ignore / strip out html include directives.
That being said, the text of a signature is available via /AquaController/username
for instance http://www.rowelab.com/AquaController/Ashlar contains-
Scott Rowe - Coppell, TX 08:34
175g main, 55g display 'fuge, 45g corner tank
Temp: 78.9 °F ph: 8.24 ORP: 407
LT1: OFF LT2: OFF LT3: OFF LT4: OFF LT5: ON

| | What would need to be allowed on a forum for the text to appear correctly? | | | |

| Well, they would have to allow embedded DHTML, ASP, PHP, or server side includes (CGI). But that's a terrible security risk that no respectable forum would do. | |
