I just wanted to add a few pics of my baby cube.  Almost everything in the tank is a frag, with one or 2 small colonies.  The tank is a custom built 55ish gallon built by Tranquil Scape.  Vince actually built this tank for himself, but he took it down, so I nabbed it from him.  The lighting is 1 DE 250 watt hamilton pendant 14k.  I am thinking of adding some supplementation of some sort to this for aesthetic purposes.  For the first time ever, I am running this tank as a bare bottom.  My wife was really against this, but we painted the under side of the tank a sandy white, and she told me today that she will never want sand again.  Flow is handled by 1 hydor koralia 4 and 2 tunze nano 6045s.  There is just at 100lbs of live rock in the tank, and skimming is being handled by a Coralife SS 65.  The skimmer was also on this tank whn I purchased it, and will be one of my first upgrades.  I really don't think this is adequate at all, but I must admit, I have been really surprised with the Superskimmer.  Tank is predomiately SPS with a few lps, polyps, and shrooms.

Some things I would like to do to the tank in the very near future are:

-Get a new skimmer.  I would love recommendations on this.  I am currently looking at the octopus skimmers as well as the deltecs.

-I am probably going to have to get an overflow for the tank, or break it down and get it drilled.  I do have another tank to put the inhabitants in if I have to get it drilled.  I really don't trust HOB overflows.  Who drills tanks around here?

-Find ways to put more flow into this tank.  I didn't go bb for nothing

Looks good, for skimmers look at the das skimmer. Pet O Rama carries them, and if the 25% off is valid that would be a great deal. Like Deltec's but cheaper

I think your starting the right way. Aquacultured frags show your desire to do this the right way.............and when it's all grown in, you get the satisfaction of saying, "I did that!"
