Well after looking online all weekend, and finally making my mind up that I was going to either purchase an Octopus or Euroreef skimmer, I pretty much decided I would get an octo.  I called Premium aquatics to talk to the guys about the octos, and they said, "it's decent."  They said you ca't really compare them to the Euro-Reef's, and told me for my tank all I really needed was a ER RS-80.  That was funny, because I was looking at the 100 or 135.  I like to overskim.  I still kind of had the octo in my head, especially because of the price, but I went down to DNA to look at their sumps, and walked out with a ER RS-80.  I have to admit, it is really built well, and I think I will be really happy with it.  I haven't bought a sump yet, but am looking at one of thier's that is 211.00. I just kind of feel like I can get one cheaper or something, but maybe not...I've built one before, and my acrylic skills aren't that great, to put it lightly, lol.  What kind of pump do you guys think I should use as a return?  This is for a 55 cube.  I was thinking mag 7 or 9.5?

You are gonna love the EuroReef. As for a return. A QuietOne 4000 would be pretty nice.

Great skimmer.  Marine Depot still has the extruded version for $178 http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=ER1414

Just make sure that if you buy it and it seems noisy, call EuroReef.  Apparently they had a bunch of impellers go out without getting the final trim process.  A call will get you a new impeller if you purchased a skimmer that was suspect.
