Well it is about that time to get new MH bulbs and I was curious as to what others are using. What brand are you using? What color (temp) are you using?

Also why did you choose that specific brand?  What are you thoughts?

I currently have 2 AB 10Ks and a Reeflux 10K over the tank. However, after seeing a fellow reefers tank with Reeflux 12Ks.. I'm going that direction. Already ordered the bulbs. I'll post before and after pics after they're installed and burned in.

I use 250W Pheonix 14K DE bulbs. I chose these based on their spectrum and light output. They are the closest match to a Radium bulb you can find. The downside is the spectrum starts to shift to purple after about 6 to 8 months of use. This compares to the Radiums life span as well when run on HQI which burns them out faster.

I've currently got Reeflux 10K's on my 105g, but going to try a couple of different ones on my new tank.  When it's done.  I've got 400W XM 10K's and 400W Reeflux 10K's.  I was originally going with only XM's for the par value, since the new tank will be about 32" deep, but with the pricing on the Reeflux's, I had to go ahead and get a couple of those as well.

I ordered a pair of Giesemann 20K DE bulbs. There are some tanks in my area using these with fantastic results.

Well my Reeflux 12Ks have been installed for a couple weeks now and I must say. Even though I'm sure they have a lower par, the overall tank color is much better. I'm so glad to be rid of the pink color of the Reeflux 10k.

I'm using 2 250w XM 15,000k on my 75g. Love the color. Give me some time and I'll tell you about the growth.

My reeflux DE 12Ks have been burning in for a couple of weeks now. I like the look, but I bet I'm giving up some growth.

I use 250 watt HQI Megachrome 14.5K and love them. They are bright and look very close to 10K Ushios with a couple of VHO actinics.
