I am unable to use the status widget.

It asks me for my login information, and then comes back witha a window telling me that "...No data is available..."

Then I have to click okay then the program ends.

      What gives???

      Thanks

      Bill

      Bill,

First, let me say welcome to ReefChat!  Now a couple quick questions. Which version of the Widget are you using, LightHouse or AquaController? What did you enter for the url on the settings screen? You can hide part of the url when responding if you wish.

Since one of the updates the Widget was to not exit if you lost connection and based on the error that you have at this point I have to assume that the url entered is not correct. That message appears if there is not information for the widget to return to the screen. There are two ways to fix this problem. You can go through the registry and delete the entries for the LHStatus or AquaStatus widget OR if you are uncomfortable with that you can go to the My Widgets directory under My Documents and rename the widget to something else.

If you rename it a new registry entry will be created with the new name. Just change it and then open it like you would any other widget.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

      Hello,

I am using the aquacontroller version and the url is 192.168.2.9. When I start up the widget, it does go to my longin window and even has my id name and password already filled in. I have retyped them to make sure they are correct, but still "...no data available..." (then click ok and nothing)

I went ahaed and renamed the aquastatus widget to aquastatusold, then double clicked on it and it started up again, (new run with it asking for the url again), did the exact same thing.

I should also add that I am using noip and that the AC III is set up for a url there as well, along with a port address. and I have the router set up with port forwarding also.

BUT, I do believe it is at least getting to the login screenn / window, as it is askiing for my id and password, and if I enter the wrong information there, it just keeps asking me until I type in the corect id and password, at which point it will come back with another window telling me the same error msg of NO DATA AVAILABLE

      uggh

Bill I see the problem. You will need to rename it again or clean the registry, which I can talk you through.

When you start it, you must enter teh FULL url to the status page. http://192.168.2.9/cgi-bin/status.cgi Then it will work.

I need to work on the instruction to make that part a little more clear.

I dont know how to clean the registry, and when I rename the file it does not ask for the url for me to enter the full name...

Sorry to be the pain in the butt... But sometimes I am the needy one.

And today is my turn damnit...

      Bill,

      1. Click Start, Run then type regedit. Hit enter.
      2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\WidgetEngine\Widgets
      3. You will find at this location all the widgets installed on your pc. Click on AquaStatus and hit the delete key. Do the same for any other names you might have used.
      4. Close the regedit window.

This will remove all the settings for the widget. You can rename the widget back to Aquastatus or what ever you want to name it. Open it with the widget engine and you should be presented with the preferences window. Enter the FULL url to the status page. (i.e - http://192.168.0.63/cgi-bin/status.cgi) The 192.XXX.XXX.XXX is ONLY VALID IN YOUR HOUSE. If you want to tuse the widget from a location outside you home, like from work or something. Then you have to get your domain address and router setup properly.
