Now that there are two clubs in Dallas, DFWMAS and DallasMAS things seem to be getting a little heated between some of the members of both.  To me the two club situation is not a bad thing choice never is.  We will have to wait and see how the new club grows and develops and more importantly how they plan to offer value to the reefers in the Metroplex.  This goes for both clubs in terms of offering value to the reefers of the area.  We will all now have a choice to join the new club, join DFWMAS, and or just belong to both clubs.  Competition normally makes things better for the consumer as far as price and services offered now both clubs will need to address the needs of its members now more than ever before.

These are my feelings on the topic anyway.

      Choice is a good thing.

I agree David, there is no reason at all that Dallas can not support multiple clubs. I am still in favor of a chapters type of setup for DFWMAS. However I understand this is just to radical of a thought for some folks. I can not help but look at other large cities where there are multiple clubs. Even if the chapters thing did was not in play, as large and spread out it only makes sense for this to happen.

I welcome Dallas MAS to the area and hop that if there is anything I can do they let me know.

BTW- If you have not checked out the groups functionality on this site, like other social networks, many differenet groups can be formed.

I think that it is a little too late for chapters and in reading post made in both forums bad blood already exist between the two groups. Chapters even though I was against in the beginning might be the best solution for a Metroplex this size with driving and traffic conditions the way they are. Perhaps three would work, one on the east, central and west.

But I think that Dallas MAS will not be willing to be a chapter under DFWMAS but I could be wrong. It would be of everyone’s benefit to come to an arrangement since DFWMAS first controls a lot of money $$$ that could be used for each of the chapters and the parent organization. But we are a long way from even thinking this way I’m afraid.

Here is a update to this topic:

I am now a member of both DFW reef clubs and don't see any conficts or problems but only advantages.
