How I built my frag tank with a fuge

After looking around Wal-Mart, I was able to find a stand that two 20 longs would fit nicely on.

First part was the building of the frag tank this was the easy part. I took some pvc pipe and also some egg crate for the frags to set on.

Next was to set up a way for the water to flow down to the fuge. I decided not to drill the tank but to use a overflow box, like this

Next, I added two a return nozal for more water movement.

Now the next step was to make up the fuge tank. This tank was a little harder; I wish I had planned it out a little better, but it worked out in the end. I decided to just go with another 20 long (like the frag tank). I was able to pick up both the 20 longs for $28 each (before taxes).

In order to add the glass I used some eltrical tape.

I decided to just go with another 20 long (like the frag tank). I was able to pick up both the 20 longs for $28 each (before taxes). I took the fuge 20 long to Ace and had them cut 4 5in tall peices. My first mistake. I liked the 5in part but I forgot the first baffle needed to be 6-7 inches and the last one also needed to be 6-7 inches. But this is what I ended with:

If you noticed I just added 2 pieces together. It made the first one 6in and the next baffle is 5 in. The last one is off the bottom of the tank by about 3/4in

To silacone them in i went with the silacone made by all glass aquareums.

Now since I wanted to have mangroves in the tank I went with live sand and bio-sediment. I added them together and mixed well.

Next was to add the mangroves and live rock.

After that, I picked up some more live rock rubble and added it to the last chamber

To pop any air bubble that may try to make its way into the main tank.

ill be adding new pic's after i get some more frags in to it.

Ok so i have been working on the tank for some time now and i have a few up dates. Ill have to post pics a bit later on.
I frag up some star polups and some are doing good some are not. I also put in a frag of (hydraphora) name may be wrong.
I made a spray bar to push any sand that may find its way to the back up to the front.
I will be adding 2 more pices of glas to the fuge one to make the return hold more water and also one to stop sand frome finding its way in to the mane tank.
