What are they?I've seen them labeled as "blue clove polyps" or "forget me not polyps", I suppose because of the resemblance to the flower.

I'm talking tiny, as in 15 or 20 polyps will fit on a dime. They really are that blue.

      WTH are they...

Do the polyps retrtact or deflate. If the deflate it is a form of Anthelia. If the retract it could be Clavularia sp. There is yet another sp. called Pachyclavularia that also has a very close match. Of course these are primarily guesses based on pic from Sprungs' book.

Personaly opinion is a sp. of Clavularia (Clove, Glove or Waving Hand) keep in mind that there are more than 40 different sp. described.

I've always thought clavularia as well, just based on shape. the polyps are out most of time, didn't think to see if they retract - i'll try that tonight. good idea!
